Before Sunset (2004)

....and she never came to premiere of "Before sunrise".
See. The whole concept of love is much more complex. Love is like God or
something: it's everywhere... I see it, I feel it, but I don't know if another
person is going to hand it to me.

But Linklater pick up the story in "Before sunrise" and after 9 years paths of Jesse and Celine crossed again in Paris during Jesse's new realised book tour. Celine came to bookstore in Paris where he had a reading session. They had nearly an hour or two to spend time together, to talk. Celine didn't come to train station in six month as they agreed nine years ago after they first met, because her grandmother, living in Budapest passed away. But Jesse was there. When he said that he came she was so sad because of that. This time, when  they met Jesse was already married and had child, Celine had a boyfriend.

During coffee time and boat tour they realized how much they missed each other and mostly their conversations.

While watching movie I had the same questions as Jesse. What if she came to train station? What if she had to go to Budapestt one week before or week after? What if they exchanged numbers or any contacts? What if they had chance to see each other earlier than now?

And again everything happens for a reason...

"...people just have an affair, or even entire relationships... they break up and they forget! They move on like they would have changed brand of cereals! I feel I was never able to forget anyone I have been with. Because each person have... their own, specific qualities."

Before Sunrise (1995, based on true story)

Note The story was inspired by an evening that Richard Linklater spent with a young woman named Amy Lehrhaupt, whom he met during a day he spent in Philadelphia travelling from New York to Austin in 1989. They were in touch but suddenly lost contact and during "Before sunrise" world premiere was taking place, Linklater was hoping that Amy would show up. In 2004 was premiere of  "Before sunset". And in 2010 Linklater found out from Amy's friend who knew their story, that Amy had died in a motorcycle accident on May 9, 1994 at the age of 24, only a few weeks before he started shooting Before Sunrise (1995).
Celine: I guess when you are young, you believe that you will
meet many people with whom you will connect with,
but later in life you realize it only happens a few times.
I was trying to watch this movie, actually whole triology for a long time and could not  make it. Last couple of days I was questioning myself with all this love staff, about people we see on our way, people who surround us, our desires, dreams, wishes, what is right /wrong and so on. And suddenly this triology came up again and it was again the right timing.

There is such an amazing energy and heartfelt conversations between Celine & Jesse.
Jesse was an american man travelling back to USA via Vienna. Celine was french woman travelling form Budapest to Paris. They met in train and later spend whole day together till sunrise in Vienna.

They had conversations about those little things which you are comfortable to talk and share with stranger, you can be who you are,be open, say what you think not afraid of judgement.

They didn't share any contacts in movie (seems in real story they did) and promised each other to meet again in six month at the same train station.

Has it ever happened for two strangers met by chance once to meet again?

My Blueberry Nights (2007)

"The last few days, I've been learning
not to trust people and I'm glad I've failed.
Sometimes we depend on other people as
a mirror to define us and tell us who
we are and each reflection makes me like
myself a little more."

"It took me nearly a year to get here. It wasn't so hard to cross that street after all. It all depends on who's waiting for you on the other side"

I believe there is always right timing for anything that happens in your life, even when you watch any kind of movie or start to do any other kind of stuff.

When I watched this movie years ago it has no impact & seemed meaningless one. It suddenly came to my mind to watch it week ago while I was on vacation figuring out what I am going to do with my life.
"Sometimes your rhythm's off, you read the person right but still do the wrong thing."
Elizabeth  was in relationship and suddenly found out that her boyfriend cheated on her. And one of these nights she decided to leave all her memories, everything and everyone behind her and left New York. She started to work as waitress at several places to support her journey. On the way she met with a series of lost souls as Leslie,Rachel and others, whose life and state of mind was much worse than hers.
Elizabeth: So what's wrong with the Blueberry Pie?
Jeremy: There's nothing wrong with the Blueberry Pie, just people make other choices.
You can't blame the Blueberry Pie, it's just... no one wants it.
So...what you need just take a break from life, routine and just spend time with yourself. ...let your soul to live the life he sent here for.

500 Days of Summer (2009, based on a real romance)

"This is a story of boy meets girl" - this is how the story begins...

Tom Hansen - grew up believing that he'd never truly be happy until the day he met "the one", even though his parents broke up.

Summer Finn - didn't share this belief, since her parents broke up. She is getting into relationships just to be "friends"

Tom: But what happens when you fall in love?
Summer: Well, you don't believe that, do you?
Tom: It's love. It's not Santa Claus.
Summer: Well, what does that word even mean? I've been in relationships and I don't think I've ever seen it.
Tom: Well, maybe that's because...

If you share the same beliefs as Tom then you can feel what he did. How you know this is "the one"? You enter the room where so many people and you just see one person & you feel that energy and think this is how story starts. But you never know the intentions of another person and that's where your world collapsed.
People don't realize this, but loneliness is underrated

"Just because she likes the same bizzaro crap you do doesn't mean she's your soul mate"

Summer let him know upfront that they are friends - kissing in the copy room, holding hands in IKEA,shower sex? Yes,that's all was about friendship.

Do really anyone lie, cheat, use, break, leave, hurt us? Or is it just really we who feel it upfront and goes for it anyway, knowing the consequences...

Tom: You know what sucks? Realizing that everything you believe in is complete and utter bullshit. It sucks. Destiny, and soul mates, and true love. And all that childhood fairytale nonsense.
